Nagarparkar is a town located in Sindh. It falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Tharparkar District and has an administrative status of a Tehsil. Nagarparkar has a population of 260,170 inhabitants according to the population consensus survey of 2017. Majority of the people living in the area are Sindhis and Hindus with Sindhi and Urdu being the most widely spoken languages.
The city serves as a pilgrimage sites to Hindus and Jains and there are many temples located here. Every year thousands of Hindus and Jains visit these temples. They also serve as popular tourist attraction for other people. The nearby Karoonjhar Mountains serve as an important source of limestone, china clay and sulphur etc. Granite is also extracted from this mountain which is used in making tiles. Due to its richness of different sorts of minerals the locals describe the mountains as giving out “gold.”
