List of Banks in Taxila (Punjab)

Taxila is a very famous historical town about which we have often read in our history books. It is located in the Rawalpindi District. As most of us have already a lot about it, the city of Taxila is famous for its archaeological discoveries and thus has been labelled by UNESCO as a world heritage site. It was also named the top tourist destination in Pakistan by the English newspaper, The Guardian in 2006.

The area has a population of 677, 951 inhabitants as per the population consensus survey of 2015. Majority of the population consists of Punjabis with Urdu and Punjabi being the dominant languages spoken in the area. The region experiences a humid subtropical climate with occasional rainfall throughout the year, most of it coming in the monsoon moths of July and august.

Apart from its importance as an archaeological site, Taxila is also home to many educational institutes which includes HITEC University and University of Engineering and Technology’s (UET) Taxila campus. It also has the very famous “Heavy Industry Taxila” which is a major Pakistani conglomerate producing defence and engineering products. Cottage industries of foot ware and stoneware are also present in the area. This huge level of economic activity has led to number of banks opening up in the city, here is a list of them:
