Rahimyar khan is one of the cities that is located on the southern side of Punjab. The city was also known as Naushera in the past but it name changed later. Talking about the history, it has a castle that was built in 1750 by Fazal Elahi Halani. This castle is made at the point known as Pul-wadda. That Pul-wadda was built in the reign of Sumra. That was located in Sindh. It was in 1883 that Nawab Sadiq Khan of Bahawalpur name it Rahim Yar khan after the name of his son. Rahimyar khan was also named for the other cities that previously reside in Bahawalpur until 1955. Throughout this city it is well managed by the train route and one of the main highway crosses this city. The population of the city is 233,537 and it has an annual growth of 4.04%. It has now increased by 330,000 by 2007. Here one of the residence it is built by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan and it is one of the dessert areas, though this residence is now owned by the son of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan, his name is SheikhKhalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan. It is bounded by Muzaffargarh district. On the eastern side it has Bahawalpur and on the south it has indian sight which contains jasilmir. On the western side it contains the district of Rajanpur. The area is known as 11880 square kilometers, the district contains four tehsils Sadiqabad, Liaquatpur, Khanpur and Rahimyar khan.
