The capital city of the District, Mianwali is an ever vibrant city of Pakistan. In November 1901, present day tehsils of Mianwali, Isa Khel and Piplan [ now Liaqat Abad] were separated from Bannu District [ KPK] and Bhakkar and Layyah from Dera Ismail Khan District clubbed together to form a new district named ‘Mianwali’. The municipal committee was founded in December 1993 and has remained operational, since then Mianwali is border district between KPK and Punjab.
Mianwali has produced some of the cricket legends as we all know, ‘The Great’ IMRAN KHAN known as KAPTAAN is from Mianwali and ‘THE KING’ MISBAH-ul-haq is from Mianwali as well. So with the passage of time people have changed their thoughts and interests as well. Talking about food, people here are crazy for food and they want to try new things, in backward areas Mianwali has witnessed a rapid development and people are showing much appreciation and acceptance to learn how to cook and bake. There are no Government approved institutions in Mianwali for cooking/baking courses, the restaurants and hotels have step up to teach people how to cook, and they are charging a very nominal price for it. Here is a list of restaurants helping this cause:
