“What’s your star sign?” One of the most frequently asked questions during an introduction between people. Astrology has become a huge sensation now that has taken the population by large.
If you’re a Gemini or a Scorpio, that’s just a token for instant dislike. If you’re a Virgo, you should try not being so judgmental and loosen up a bit. If you’re a Cancer, you’re just a moody cry-baby, and so on. It has become a set standard for the zodiacs to have a few characteristics that are generalized and then made to be applied to every person regardless of the room for fitting; stereotypes, simply. And where these characteristics and traits are generalized, so is the compatibility among the signs.
Whether an Aries is compatible with a Sagittarius, a Libra with an Aquarius, or a Capricorn with a Virgo; is a constant debate. This science of zodiacs is a vast field in itself and continues to be a large impact on the minds of people. Nowadays people focus on the compatibility between zodiacs instead of their personal and mental compatibility and although it’s accuracy, in most cases, cannot be denied, this pattern of thinking reduces room for any actual compatibility.
Astrology has contributed tenfold to the growth and advancement of mankind but it is taken a little too far at times with judging people solely based on their constellation signs and what not. Where the zodiacs explain almost everything about people being born under a specific star sign, there is still room for that little percentage of every person’s distinct individuality. Its not uncommon to hear the occasional, ‘He’s a Taurus, I’m a Libra, it would never work there’s no chemistry.’
I believe in the prospect of trying, you could make anything work if you try as bad as you want it, but then again, it could also not. Indeed, some things never work out no matter how much effort went into it, but there’s still room for improvement.
There’s no denying zodiac compatibility and its effectiveness, but one should also focus on the originality among every human, too. Sometimes the person your horoscope was telling you to avoid most, along the way turns out to be your soulmate, and vice versa. None of us know what or who the future holds for us, but I think, letting the window open, every now and then, does bring in a pleasant breeze.
