Why You Need To Watch ‘Apna Khana Khud Garam Karo’

ARY digital seems to have been inspired by the very famous (ahem) Aurat March poster, that they are releasing a new telefilm this eid called ‘Apna Khana Khud Garam Karo’. It stars Nadia Khan, Aimen Khan, Affan Waheed and Saleem Mairaj. It is being directed and produced by Kashif Saleem.

The director says it’s not a feminist agenda, but a witty light-hearted film with comedy at the centre of it, and yet it is impactful. Nadia said about her role, that she plays a women who is dominant over her husband. She therefore ends up brainwashing her newly wed neighbour, Aimen Khan’s character, whose husband is dominant over her. The whole dynamic ¬†ultimately confuses and wrecks their lives.

Well we can only hope it is done in a tasteful manner that neither offends the feminists nor the general awaam, rather it has a meaningful message in it that audiences can take back and learn from.
