Sarah Haider is a Pakistani-American writer, speaker, and activist. She is the Director and Co-Founder of Development for Ex-Muslims of North America.

Sarah Haider Career
When Sarah was 16 she started to read the Quran critically and later left Islam. In 2013, Sarah Haider, along with Muhammad Syed co-founded Ex-Muslims of North America, an advocacy organization and online community dedicated to normalizing religious dissent and to helping create local support communities for those who have left Islam. In 2015, Sarah delivered a widely viewed lecture, “Islam and the Necessity of Liberal Critique,” at an American Humanist Association conference in Denver. In addition to atheism, Sarah is particularly passionate about civil liberties and women’s rights.
Family of Sarah
Sarah was born in Pakistan but moved to Houston, Texas when she was 7 years old. She was born to a practicing Shia family but converted to atheism when she was 16. Soon after, her father also converted to atheism. She is 26 years old and is currently unmarried.
