Rao Anwar Remanded for 30 Days in Police Custody

Former SSP Malir Rao Anwar who was declared absconder more than a month finally got arrested on March 21st, 2018 when he appeared before 3 member bench of the court during the proceedings of the case. CJP ordered police to arrest Rao Anwar from the courtroom and ensure his safety. He was scheduled to appear before the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018.

Rao Anwar Remanded for 30 Days in Police Custody

ATC started hearing his case regarding the extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud, in which Rao Anwar has already claimed that he is innocent in this case. ATC has granted 30 days physical remand in police custody. ATC Judge Khalida Yaseen expelled this contention and requested police to create Anwar during the continuous hearing. Ten other police officers who had been captured before likewise showed up in court today.
