Muniba Mazari is a Pakistani artist, model, activist, motivational speaker, singer, and television host. She uses a wheelchair due to injuries sustained in a car accident at the age of 21 which makes her Pakistan’s first wheelchair-bound model.
Muniba’s Age, Education and Family
Khurram Shahzad, a former air force official and now a commercial pilot, had married Muniba Mazari in December 2005. She divorced him in 2015. The couple had met with a car accident near Jacobabad on February 27, 2008, in which Mazari lost both her legs. She started interacting with foreigners in Islamabad’s diplomatic circles, he said, she developed an interest in modeling and singing. However, Shahzad maintained that this was against his family’s value. Her education is uncertain.

Mazari, who is also a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in Pakistan, gained popularity after regularly appearing on national TV. . She was one of the two Pakistanis to be named BBCs 100 most inspirational women in 2015, and works as an occasional anchor at PTV, being their first wheelchair-using anchor. Additionally, Muniba is the first wheelchair-using model for the Toni&Guy in Pakistan, featured in Forbes 30 under 30 in 2016, and head of CSR for Chughtai Labs.
Muniba has given motivational talks on various platforms like TEDx, Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), Young presidents’ Organization (YPO), Youth Entrepreneur Organization (YEO), Global Leadership Conference (GLC) 2016, VCon Malaysia 2017, and Vcon Dubai 2017.
Muniba Mazari has been at the center of controversy lately after her ex-husband sued her for defamation. In another case, she has also been accused of plagiarizing another artist Laiba Baig’s work. Muhammad Atif Sheikh, president Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP), a DPO (Disabled People Organization) to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities says that she is just a model of disability and she uses false sympathetic stories to make money.
