Muhammad Pervaiz Malik received his early education in his home ground. After completion of his High school he moved to London to attend Aston University, Untied kingdom. He graduated with BSc degree in the year 1970. He is married with two sons and a daughter. His sister Yasmeen Rehman is also serving as a member of National Assembly Pakistan.

His political engagement started in 1997. He contested Pakistan General election from NA-120 constituency and was successfully elected to Pakistan National assembly.

Again in 2010, he participated in Pakistan general election from the same constituency and was selected as a member of National assembly of Pakistan for the second time. He again won a seat in Pakistan general election on Pakistan Muslim League platform PML-N in the year 2013. He was made Minister for Commerce for the first time by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
