Maryam Nawaz, daughter of the former prime minister and primary accuse of Avenfield property cases appeared today on Wednesday April 4th, 2018 in front of the accountability court today along with her father Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, and her husband Capt (Retd) Safdar for the trial filed against them by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding Avenfield properties cases.
After today’s trial when she came out of the accountability court hearing the graft cases, she immediately decided to jump on a social media platform and demanded the fair and transparent proceeding of the cases against her and the sharif’s family and requested to broadcast live telecast of court proceedings on National television. She said, “The entire trial proceedings of NAB court against Nawaz Sharif and me should be live telecast so that the nation can know the truth“.
Immediately after her tweet, one of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaaf’s (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry agreed to her demand appreciated her courage to ask for live telecast of case proceedings against her and her family. Fawad further said, “We had also demanded that the proceedings of the JIT probing the Panama Papers case and the Supreme Court proceedings be broadcast live, the decision to broadcast proceedings rests with the court”.
