Syed Muhammad Masood Alam is associated with Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). He is an agriculturist, who served as Member of the District Council of Rahim Yar Khan for two terms; as Chairman of the Market Committee in Liaquatpur for three years and has also functioned as Tehsil Nazim of Liaquatpur during the years 2000 and 2004. He remained a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1997-99 and has returned to Punjab Assembly for the second term in general elections 2013 and is functioning as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Home Affairs.
