Education and Family of Khawaja Salman Rafiq

Khawaja Salman Rafique, who is the son of Khawaja Muhammad Rafique, was born on February 16, 1965. His brother, Khawaja Saad Rafique was Member of Punjab Assembly during 1997-99, a Member of National Assembly during 2002-07 and 2008-13 and is a sitting Member of National Assembly right now and is functioning as Minister for Railways.

His mother was also a Member of Punjab Assembly during 1985-88; and his sister-in-law, Mrs Ghazala Saad Rafique was Member of the Punjab Assembly during 2008-13.

Political Career of Khawaja Salman Rafiq

Khawaja Salman Rafiq is a member of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). He was Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2008-13 and functioned as Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Health. He has returned to Punjab Assembly for the second term in by-elections held on August 22, 2013 against the seat vacated by Mian Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, who had won both National and provincial seats and opted for National Assembly seat. He is functioning as Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education. He also served as Advisor to Chief Minister on Health.
