Kamran Akmal is a Pakistani cricketer, who plays Tests, ODIs and T20Is for Pakistan as a right-handed wicket-keeper-batsman.

Kamran Akmal was born on the 13th of January 1982 (Age: 35 years) in Lahore, Pakistan. Kamran Akmal has graduated from Beaconhouse School System Garden Town, Lahore. He has not attended college for higher studies.
Kamran Akmal International and Domestic Career
Kamran Akmal made his debut for Pakistan in 2002 against Zimbabawe in Harare. He made a promising start to his career and showed brilliance as a batsmen as well as behind the stumps. He has made 2648 runs in Test matches for Pakistan scoring six centuries along the way. one of his most memorable innings was against india where he scored 109 runs to ave the match for Pakistan and also one where he rescued Pakistan from 39/6 against England and helped them get to 245 which enebled them to win the match. Akmal was part of the Pakistan team that won the T20 World Cup in 2009.
Despite his good performances Kamran Akmal has not shown consistency especially behind the wicket. He is prone to making clumsy mistakes which have proved costly many times for Pakistan. He is most infamous for his four dropped catches against Australia at Sydney in 2009 which caused Pakistan to lose a comfortable match. He has scored 2924 runs in 137 ODIs and as a wicket keeper he has 206 dismissals in Tests, 169 in ODIs and 52 dismissals in T20Is to his name.He was signed on by the Rajasthani Royals for IPL and by Peshawar Zalmi for PSL.
Kamran Akmal Match Fixing Allegations
It was alleged that Kamran Akmal was involved in match fixing when he dropped four catches in a match against Australia and was subsequently dropped for the Twenty20 series against England. He was also involved with the spot-fixing scandal that included Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif on the basis of which he was not allowed to take part on the tour of South Africa.

Kamran Akmal comes from a large family, of which two of his brothers, Adnan Akmal and Umar Akmal, are also professional cricketers, the former being a keeper-batsman and the latter being a specialist batsman as well as part-time wicket-keeper. He got married in 2006 to Aizza and have two kids together, a son Ayyan and a daughter Laiba.
