Heat Wave Alert! Safety Tips To Deal With This Intense Heat

With this growing temperature everyday, every measure you take for protection is little! The best defenses against getting too much harmful UV radiation from the burning sunlight are the following:

Don’t Get Burned

Red, sore, blistered or peeling skin means far too much sun – and raises your risk for skin cancer.

Wear Clothes

Shirts, hats, shorts and pants provide the best protection from UV rays – try wearing clothes that cover your skin fully.

Find Shade – Or Make It

Picnic under a tree, read beneath an umbrella or simply find shade to rest under. Keep infants in the shade – they lack the tanning pigments, known as melanin, that protect skin. And honestly, just carry around an umbrella with you no matter how anyone else around you perceives it, let them be the one to scorch in the sun not you.

Plan Around The Sun

Go outdoors in early morning or late afternoon, when the sun is lower. UV radiation peaks at midday, so basically the time from 10 am till about 5 pm.

Sunglasses Aren’t Just a Fashion Accessory

Good shades protect your eyes from UV radiation that causes cataracts, and you look a lot more classy.
