Gohar Rasheed is Pakistan’s favorite on screen bad boy. He has been both greatly admired and severely despised for the portrayal of villainous roles. Rasheed officially entered the Pakistani media industry in 2007 as a Radio Jockey, hosting a show on Radio FM 91 called Pakistanwaalah. The fact that Rasheed still continues with this show is a clear depiction of his level of commitment.

Gohar was born in Lahore, on 2nd May 1984 (Age: 33 Years). His alma maters are Government College University, Lahore, and Beaconhouse National University, Lahore. He received his undergraduate degree, with major in Theatre, Television and Film and minor in Journalism from the latter institute.From that point, Rasheed went on to perform in multifarious theatre plays for a while.

After completing his studies, Gohar had to struggle to make a place for himself in the industry. Being aware of the fact that he won’t win overnight glory, he was assuaged with his humble beginning and the hustle that followed.
In 2008, Gohar made his debut performance in Bombay Dreams, a high-profile play directed by Shah Shahrabeel. His exceptional performance and demeanor on stage, set him aside from the rest. It earned him the leading role of The Duke of Monroth, in the theatre version of Moulin Rouge.
In 2013, he bagged the role of General Zia-Ul-Haq, in a political play, Sawa 14 August, written by Anwar Maqsood and Dawar Mehmood. In 2014, he worked with them again, in the comic play Half Plate.

2014 was a pivotal year for Gohar’s acting career. He worked in 4 drama serials. His on screen debut was in “Shikwa” aired on ARY Digital. After which he worked in, “Goya,” “Digest Writer”, “Khuda na Karay,” and “Nazdeekiyan.”
In 2015, he went on to work in some of the most notable drama serials of the year entitled; “Khilona”, “Meray Jeevan Saathi”, “Paiwand” and “Aitraaz”.
However, the highlight of Gohar’s career, is undoubtedly the negative role of Mikaeel, played in the famed drama serial “Mann Mayal”.

The project that catapulted Gohar’s career and lionized him in the industry, was Mansoor Mujahid’s “Seedlings”. The character of Anil Kumar, earned him worldwide appreciation and attention. It earned him multiple awards and award nominations. Gohar has also acted in “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi”, “O21”, “Yalghaar”, and the recently released “Rangreza”. He has also made a cameo appearance in “Yeh Jawani Phir Nahi Aani”, Rasheed is currently working in Hamza Ali Abassi’s “Kambakht”.

He has also won the International Pakistan Prestige Awards (IIPA) for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the extraordinary portrayal of Mikaael in the drama serial Mann “Mayal”.

Gohar Rasheed comes from a conventional middle class Pakistani family, with no thespian roots or background. His family encouraged him to enter the business of stock exchange, but he refused to give up on his passions and dreams.
He is currently a bachelor, devoting his life to the Pakistani Media Industry through with his exceptional talent and unprecedented execution of roles.
