Farah Naz Ispahani is a strong woman and a Pakistani politician from a very strong, influential and very well educated family back ground. She is one of very few multi talented Pakistani woman politicians who have worked on international level and earned her respect and Pakistan’s as well. Before joining the politics she was professionally a journalist who worked with global media platforms like MSNBC, CNN, ABC news and many other international known media channels. She belongs to Ispahani family which was a tribe originated from West Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh.
Farah Naz’s Education and Professional Career
Farah Naz Ispahani was born in Karachi, Pakistan and brought up in the province of Sindh in Pakistan. She got her early education from Karachi, Dhaka and London where she also had some family living there for decades. For professional education, she went to United States of America (USA) from where she graduated from Wellesley College in Massachusetts with majors in Political Science.
After graduating, she spend quite a few years in professional career and worked with major broadcasting and media platforms which includes MSNBC, Voice of America (VOA), ABC news, and CNN. She worked with these media giants and assists the team in launching different new programs “Paula Zahn Now” a very famous program from CNN on Global political analysis. She also launched another very famous show”360” on current affairs mostly on politics and wars in the world, this show was later taken over by her fellow journalist and started to air as “Anderson Cooper 360”.
She also worked as managing editor and executive producer for a very famous program “Beyond the Headlines”. It was the only Urdu language television program aired on VOA. In Pakistan she worked with top ranked media channels and newspapers as a chief editor of different programs and magazines which inclides “Zameen” a famous magazine regarding Pakistanis living abroad. She is also a regular writer for top ranked Pakistani English newspapers like “The News”, “Express Tribune”, and “Daily Times”.
Farah Naz Isphani’s Political Career
Ispahani joined Pakistani politics in 2006 in media relation department of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). She served as a media spokesperson for former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. She became member of National Assembly from PPP on reserved seats for women in 2008 general elections from the constituency of NA-310 Sindh-XI and also served as a media spokesperson of the president Asif Ali Zardari. She was disqualified in 2012 by Supreme Court of Pakistan due to her possession of dual nationality of Pakistan & USA.

She was born in 1963 in Karachi and according to her profile she is 55 years, and she spend almost half of her life in journalism and served as a voice for Pakistani women for their rights and she also fought for minority rights in Pakistan. She also wrote a book “Purifying the Land of the Pure” a history of Religious minorities in Pakistan.
