Earth Hour is a very interesting phenomenon that is observed all over the Globe every year. The main reason for earth hour is to raise awareness of environmental challenges and the growing impact of climate change on our environment. Lights will be turned off across the globe to mark the annual earth hour event and this practice will also be observed in Pakistan.
This phenomenon was first introduced by Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) in 2007, this initiative was taken to protect a healthy green environment and to conserve energy. Many countries took part in this practice.
In Pakistan, the lights at the parliament house, and landmarks throughout the country will shut down their all non-essential lights to show the commitment at 8:30 PM-09:30 PM. Data and stats have proved that climate had very positive impact of this earth hour.
