If we look around it seems like we are losing control of our land, especially morally. Have we forgotten the sacrifice of people or were we never aware. If we are aware maybe it doesn’t seem realistic enough through exchanging dialogue to give us goosebumps.
Hum TV broadcast “Dastaan” gives us a visual presentation of sacrifices we have forgotten. Although, the drama was first broadcast in 2010 but it’s a good watch any time of any year. It is based on Razia Butt’s novel “Bano” and revolves around scenarios taken place between 1947-1956. It is focused on the brotherhood between Muslims and Hindus before partition then showed how quickly things got ugly along with brutality migrants faced and later events.
The drama starts in a light-hearted way way where there’s a bit of a romance going on between our favorites Sanam Baloch as “bano” (main character) and Fawad Khan as Hassan. there are also Saba Qamar, Ahsan Khan and few more beloved actors on the screen with them.
Soon, the story turns upside down and brutality starts. The story takes such a turn that it will give you goosebumps for sure. We can only feel minor intensity of terror that those people felt during the massacre. Since it’s bit graphic sometimes, parental supervision is advised. But a pro-tip from someone who loves the show: Do not fall in love with any of the characters.
