Ayesha Gulalai Wazir is a very famous, young and strong Pakistani politician from KPK province. Currently, she is a member of the National Assembly on the reserved seat for women from Pakistan Tekreek-e-Insaaf. She is a very active member of her party and actively take part in most of the issues raised by the party leadership and she also has a very strong opinion.
Ayesha completed her early education from Peshawar and obtained her Master’s degree from university of Peshawar in journalism. She started her career working as a Pashto newscaster on Pakistan Television (PTV) and then later, she started working for The News International. She is not from a political family background so it wasn’t so easy for her to join politics in KPK province.
Ayesha Gulalai started her political career from Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPPP). She was a political worker and a human rights activist in South Waziristan area and she was also coordinator for the women’s wing in Federally Administrated Tribal Area (FATA). Due to her pro activeness, her party’s leadership was very proud of her and they planned to give her a ticket to run for Member of National Assembly (MNA) but she couldn’t fulfill the requirements due to her age. She was too young to contest for parliamentarian seat.
In 2012 she joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inssaaf (PTI) and got nominated as a member of PTI’s central core committee. From PTI, she was elected as a member of National Assembly (MNA) on reserved seat for women. She was the youngest parliamentarian and first ever female elected from FATA.
