Getting women rights and oppression against women are the issues people are talking on at the present. Pakistan is also looking into the topic and we have seen more celebrities come out and talk about it. Some dramas are also depicting the themes in an equitable manner. The worldwide #MeToo movement reached Pakistan as well and a few high profile accusations were made, top of the line being the case between Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar.
After all this, actress and director Angeline Malik has initiated a movement named “Inkaar Karo, Hum Tumhare Saath Hain”. The movement is intended to raise knowledge about social issues and talk about the cruelty women are facing in our society. The movement has brought together some strong women who will be listening to stories of the victims, believing and supporting them.
Sanam Saeed, Sonya Husyn Sheema Kirmani, Ayesha Omar, Samina Ahmed, Tooba Siddiqui, Freiha Altaf, Sheema Kirmani, Arjumand Rahim,NA Ghazala Saifi, Uzma Noorani (WAF) (Panah), Rabeeya Seemul Latif (Founder Soul Bitches), Farah Shah and Faiza Saleem are among the women who have joined the movement.
And we are hoping forward that this movement will encourage women to speak up for their right and seek justice.
