List of Banks In Akora Khattak (KPK)

Akora Khattak is a small town of the famous Grant Trunk road, located in the Jehngira Tehsil of Nowshera District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As unique as its name sounds, the area is named after Malik Akor Khan Khattak who was the grandfather of the famous Pashtun warrior Khushal Khan Khattak. Malik Akor Khan Khattak himself was very famous robber in the region and created many problems for the Mughal Empire, later he was made a government servant by the Mughals of the area and thus the area famously became to be known by his name.

The population of the town is 47,255 according to the latest population consensus of 2017. The area has quite a few historical places as well which leads to a lot of tourists coming into the city. It includes the tomb of Khushal Khan Khattak and the Shrine of Akhund Adyan Baba who was a famous Sufi scholar. “Dar ul Uloom Haqqania,” the second largest Islamic institution of the country is also located in Akora Khattak. A very famous fort of the Mughals “Rang Mehal” is also located nearby. The major sports of the area are cricket and volleyball.
