‘Quantico’ is an American drama series that explores the lives of young FBI recruits who come to the Quantico base in Virginia for training and improvement. The show surveys through the lives of these recruits and the secrets each holds, that end up being more powerful than expected.
Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is one of the few Bollywood-Hollywood successes and her fans were outraged by a recent episode of ‘Quantico’ that touched some sensitive political issues.
The episode’s plot centered on a physics professor at a U.S. university who stole weaponized uranium in a plot to detonate it in New York. When caught, Chopra’s character Alex Parrish discovers the plotter to possess Hindu prayer beads, confirming the fact that he is an Indian nationalist and that the bombing was meant to frame Pakistan.
Now although the plot did offend many as it was aired in America, it was taken down after it however and the officials and Chopra herself took to apologise for the whole matter.
Quantico is a work of fiction. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.
Said the management on the matter, while Chopra took to twitter and apologized personally as well
Now while the sentiment of the fans in understandable (more for us considering they’re literally calling us terrorists) as the episode, ‘The Blood of Romeo’ has stirred a lot of emotion, some fans also responded with understanding to the situation and supported Chopra through the whole thing because as this emotion was unfairly aimed at Chopra, who didn’t create the show, nor does she write or direct it, and she has no involvement in the casting of the show or on the storylines depicted in the series.
